i got a pleasant surprise yesterday from the mail. smoothwall case badges! cool! thanks ryback!
i’ve been using smoothwall express for a linux-based firewall since september of 2004 and its been pretty solid. some people will say there are better firewalls out there that you can get for free and i may agree but one great thing about smoothwall is the community around it. they’re friendlier and more accomodating (within reason) to the uninitiated. yes, i have tried other firewalls. of course if you are a newbie there are only a couple of things to do before first posting on the forums or in any forum for that matter:
- rtfm. read the fine manual. the pdf documentation is pretty easy to understand and well thought out. if you can’t find it the documentation can usually find it by…
- searching the forums. the search button can be found on the upper right hand corner of every page in the forums. most of the time you can your get your questions answered there already.
if you can find it after going through #1 and #2 then its time to post.
so if you use smoothwall you can order from ryback at the forums.
