google (and yahoo!) is your friend

we wanted pizza delivered the other day. we didn’t have the number of greenwich pizza and we didn’t have their delivery leaflets that they usually give away. the telephone directory is away lost somewhere.

googlegoolgle is your friend. since i’m online already, i googled for “greenwich philippines” gave us the number and pizza got delivered.

“google is your friend.”

i see this sentence a lot in the forums i frequent or some sites i visit which usually means (for those who are really dense), search for it on the internet using either google or yahoo. you’ll usually find what you’re looking for in their indices although you’d really have to weed out which of the results is valid for you.

yahoo!although it is not perfect, google is the biggest and most widely used search engine on the internet. it does have its detractors though. yahoo still has a considerable presence in the search arena but they have conceded the lead to google. but yahoo! is not known for idly sitting around. it has something up its sleeves. in some ways, i like yahoo’s search content better and in some ways i like google’s. microsoft is/will be coming out with their own web crawler to join the fray and it has been reported that it has a much cleaner interface but i personally haven’t tried that one yet. give me a link.

i’ll put my reasons here on why i like those two engines another time but for now i use both google and yahoo. they’re my friends. :-)

happy valentine’s day!
