allowing pop-ups in yahoo! toolbar
every once in a while there’s an application that you use which utilizes pop-up windows. if you have the yahoo! toolbar installed in your browser, in this case, internet explorer, then the built-in pop-up blocker will do its job and will not allow the pop-up window to appear. you can configure the yahoo! toolbar pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from certain sites.
first, locate the blocker icon in the toolbar. it should look something like this:

next, go to the site that has pop-ups and do your normail log in (or what not..) you’ll know when the blocker has blocked a window when the icon appears something like this:

you can then click on the blocker icon and several options will come out:

click on “always allow pop-ups from..” and you’ll get this dialog box:

this shows you the ip address or domain name that was blocked. i have deliberately painted over the address for security reasons. click on the ip address that you want to accept pop-up windows from and then click the “allow” button. the blocker will as you again:

if you are absolutely sure that you want to allow pop-ups from that address then click on “ok”. you will then go back to the yahoo! pop-up blocker dialog box with the allowed address included in the allow list:

click on “close”, restart your browser by closing all instances of it, open your browser again and go to back to the site and do your normal log in (and what not). you should be able to see the window that was previously blocked.
