verisign to control .com until 2012?
i just read this article about icann giving verisign control of the .com top-level domain until 2012. the other registrars are not happy about it. why would they be? here’s an excerpt:
This deal is outrageous. It’s monopolistic because it locks in price hikes and eliminates good old-fashion competition.
no one really likes a monopoly. no one likes to be dictated to.
and domains.ph hasn’t answered my e-mail yet. but like i said, i’m not hopeful that they would.
