my web page at google
i recently got an invitation to create a bunch of web pages over at google. its a new beta thing (again) they call google page creator. here’s my first page. as they said, its pretty easy to set up a page. there are a handful of design templates to choose from and i was able to put in a two column design. three columns are also available.
i did encounter a bit of trouble though but not with the page creation. my firewall was complaining about a attempted user priviledge gain. a little investigating led me to a rule called “web-client html dom invalid element creation attempt” which pointed to google. smoothie (my firewall) blocked the google ip address which prevented me from editing my page. a false positive. so i did a little reconfiguration and the firewall doesn’t complain anymore.
a question keeps nagging me though. why would google put up something like this when they have blogger in their fold already? on the surface, it seems a bit redundant.
i’ll put more inputs as they come but if you’re itching for a review, here’s one.
