i discovered this little utility that monitors my desktop computer. it polls the speed of the fans, the temperatures of the cpu, motherboard and hard disks (those that have temp sensors built in). it optionally controls the speed of the fans to keep things quiet.

verisign to control .com until 2012?

i just read this article about icann giving verisign control of the .com top-level domain until 2012. the other registrars are not happy about it. why would they be? here’s an excerpt:

subject: cost of .ph domains
how come the .ph domains still as a price tag of us$ 35.00/year? it hasn’t gone down (at least to the end users) ever since desini started it in the 90s.
