power supply is dying

i think my power supply is dying.

i’m using a task dual-fan 450w switching power supply (tk-945tx-df). it should last more than 3 years. well, according to the task web site, its suppose to have a 3-year warranty. but i have just been using it for a little under two years and according to the data that speedfan and asusprobe was giving me the power supply’s voltages are running a bit low.

my voltages

unfortunately, the vendor where i got it from — pcx — only gives a year’s warranty.

this sucks.

i don’t think i’m even loading it. according to js custom pcs power supply wattage calculator i’m just sucking in 327 watts of juice.

so, what to do next:

  1. pray that i get enough money to buy a really good power supply
  2. when i do get the money, don’t buy a psu from task anymore
  3. try to avoid buying from pcx (although their prices are generally cheap)
