bitten by ie
ugh. long story short…
so here i was quietly making web pages for a potential client. everything looked well. it renders nicely in firefox and code validates properly so i uploaded it to a test server. after about a week, i found out that potential client sort of wanted to bite my head off because the pages were off kilter. everything was messed up.
they were using internet explorer.
blam! [ image of me falling down of the floor and lying there unconcious for a few minutes ]
stupid mistake, i admit.
after all this time i shouldn’t have trusted microsoft to follow web standards. and apparently there’s quite a handful of css implementation bugs in ie that microsoft “forgot” to correct. granted that the other browsers have their own quirks but big old ms is at the top of the heap.
so i go and correct the pages according how ie renders them and i check with both firefox and opera and for the most part everything’s fine.
as for potential client, well, i haven’t heard from them yet although i informed them via e-mail about the corrections already. i think they still want my head on a platter.
my apologies.
as for me and internet explorer, no. we’re not friends.
switch to firefox or opera. they are currently better browsers.
