4-day computer off
i went out of town for 4 days which means my workstion was also off for 4 days.
when i got back, my workstation didn’t even want to boot. the screen was blank. there was no error beeps. the power supply was running, the fans were spinning and there’s the usual blinking of the leds of the cd roms when i power it up. but no boot up screen.
grrr… my girlfriend said my workstation missed me and was having a tantrum.
i decided to do an unplug and plug — unplug connectors, cards and memory one by one and put them back in.
i eventually got to the root which was dirty memory module contacts which i cleaned off before inserting them back in.
all’s working now but i really have to do a major clean up of my workstation.
