ok. i was able to get out of the 640×480 rut from ubuntu 6.06.1 live cd but now i’m stuck with a 1280×1024 screen resultion.

some of you might think that this is a good thing but things get too small on a 17″ crt monitor. plus the refresh rate of 61 hz is a bit [...]

i finally found a way for the live cd of kubuntu (6.06.1) to go 1024×768 on me without installing the distro on my system. unfortunately, i have not found a way to do it in ubuntu.
first i had to change the display in the system settings to a generic display set at 1024×768:

hmmm… it appears that someone may be trying to spoof opendns. dns spoofing is another way of taking over websites — hackers try to take over a dns and redirect traffic from a legitimate site to a fake one (long story short).
