trying to dual boot

kubuntu dapperi’m trying to dual boot windows xp pro and kubuntu. it seems there’s a lot of planning to be done with regards to repartitioning the hard drives. i cannot abandon xp just yet. i cannot afford another desktop and a lot of my clients still use it and i’m currently trying to migrate them (at least some of their workstations) to linux. so dual booting my system would be a good compromise.

the problem is that my system is a bit different. i have three hard disks and two cd-rom/cdrw drives. one drive is scsi where i boot xp from and the other two are for data connected to the primary ide connector.

i could probably repartition the primary master for use with kubuntu. that way i can either use the bios to choose from where to boot from or through grub. i haven’t actually tried it yet and i haven’t read anything about a similar setup so i guess i’ll find out soon.

i just have to reorganize/move around my files — which can take forever. ugh.
