for the past few days, askimet — the plug-in filtering out comment spam on this log — has been naughty. it reset my spam counter a week ago and again yesterday. i also noticed a surge in comment spam — in one day it went up 230+, although the counter says it has caught 223 only. the folks at askiment said it has something to do with their dns taking a short coffee break and its being/has been forced to get back to work.

the good thing is that askimet didn’t let spam comments pass.
