preoccupations
i have these little preoccupations. things that i find interesting. one of them is power. not the “world domination” type. 
har har. i’m thinking about renewables. renewable power — solar, wind-generated and, sometimes, geothermal power — because i wonder where we will be getting the electricity to keep our tvs and computers running in the future.
i also take time to read about digital storage — disks, ssd, flash, etc. — because i wonder where all this data will get stored or how they get stored. we do take a lot of pictures. and movies. all this digitized memories has to be kept somewhere.
sooner or later, we will have a one petabyte sata iv disk or a 1 terabyte flash stick. and we’ll discover that we’ll have more power by just using thing/gadgets that use less of it.
